Fauvism workshop lead by Diane - in progress - November 2012

Diane explained the background to the paintings by "Les Fauves" (wild beasts) in the 1900 to 1910 period. The bright colours of the impressionists were applied to a variety of subjects painted in a bold or abstract way, often in pure pigments and thick outlines.

The excercise was to paint subjects in the Fauvist style. The images on the following pages were part painted and unfinished at the end of the session.
