Sue
Deighton was invited to demonstrate acrylic painting of animals.
She
showed members her travel sketchbooks of mediterranaen and
african scenes and of african animals. Some of these are reproduced
in the following pages.
For
the demonstration she worked from a photograph of two elephants.
She used a rough surfaced 200lb watercolour paper and Interactive
slow-drying acrylic paints in red, blue, yellow, white and
black.
She
placed emphasis on the linking of the subject with its background.
