The base was MDF from a DIY store, with three thin coats of white acrylic gesso applied to ceate a matt surface.

Jeremy applied a thin coat of Liquin to the board to improve paint flow and smooth the brush strokes.

The paints were Winsor & Newton Griffin Alkyd oil paints. These are fast drying, say 1 or 2 hours depending on thickness and temperature.

Painting was with DIY brushes with light coloured nylon bristles.

Low odour thinners was used to clean afterwards.

Working initially from light to dark, Jeremy spread yellow and pink to create background areas.
